Quick answers about our inverters, batteries, net metering, installation and support.
General
Fronus designs and manufactures solar hybrid inverters (IP65 and IP21), on-grid inverters, three-phase commercial systems, LiFePO₄ lithium batteries, and monocrystalline solar panels. All products are engineered in Pakistan for local grid and climate conditions.
No. Fronus is a Pakistani solar manufacturer headquartered in Lahore. We design our own products, write our own firmware, and operate our own service network. We are not an OEM rebrand: every circuit board and firmware version is designed by our engineering team.
Fill in the contact form on our website or call 042-111-111-140. Our team will ask about your monthly electricity bill, load requirements, and roof space to size the right system. Consultations are free with no obligation.
Fronus does not provide installation, transportation, or any other on-site services. These arrangements are the customer's responsibility.
Fronus products are available through our 200+ authorized dealers across Pakistan. Visit our contact page or call us to find the nearest dealer in your city.
Inverters
IP65 inverters are weather-proof (rated for dust and water jets), so they can be installed outdoors directly on a rooftop without any enclosure. IP21 inverters are indoor-rated, ideal for installations where indoor mounting is available. Both offer hybrid functionality with battery support.
Yes. Fronus hybrid and on-grid inverters are NEPRA-compliant and support net metering. The firmware is specifically tuned for Pakistan's grid requirements and net metering policy.
IP21 Hybrid Inverters come with a 1-year warranty, while IP65 Hybrid Inverters come with a 5-year warranty. Warranty claims are handled at any of our 16 service centers nationwide.
Yes. Fronus IP65 hybrid inverters support parallel operation and battery expansion. You can add more solar panels (up to the inverter's MPPT capacity) or additional lithium batteries as your energy needs grow.
Batteries
Fronus uses LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate) cells, the safest and longest-lasting lithium chemistry for solar storage. Our batteries offer 6,000 to 8,000 plus cycles, meaning approximately 15+ years of daily use.
Fronus LiFePO₄ batteries are rated for 6,000+ cycles at 80% depth of discharge. With daily cycling, that translates to 15–20 years of operational life. We offer a 5-year warranty on all lithium batteries.
Fronus batteries use standard 48V communication protocols and can technically work with compatible third-party inverters. However, for optimal performance and warranty coverage, we recommend pairing with a Fronus hybrid inverter or consult with our technical team.
Fronus lithium batteries range from 2.56 kWh to 15 kWh in a single unit. Multiple units can be connected in parallel for larger storage requirements. Wall-mount and rack-mount options are available.
Net Metering
Net metering is a NEPRA policy that allows solar system owners to export excess electricity back to the grid. Your electricity meter runs backwards when you generate more than you consume, effectively giving you credit on your bill.
Your solar installer typically handles the net metering application with your local DISCO (e.g. LESCO, FESCO, K-Electric). The process involves submitting your system design, getting a generation license from NEPRA, and installing a bidirectional meter.
All Fronus on-grid and hybrid inverters are NEPRA-compliant and support net metering. The on-grid range is specifically designed for pure grid-tied operation, while hybrid inverters add battery backup on top of net metering capability.
Savings depend on your system size, electricity tariff, and consumption pattern. A typical 10 kW system can reduce a Rs. 25,000–40,000 monthly bill by 70–90%.
Installation
A residential solar system (3–10 kW) typically takes 1–2 days to install. Commercial systems (15 kW+) may take 3–5 days depending on complexity. This excludes the net metering approval process.
If you choose a Fronus IP65 inverter, no. It can be installed outdoors directly on your rooftop or exterior wall. IP21 inverters should be installed in a ventilated indoor location away from direct rain and dust.
Solar panels can be installed on concrete roofs (most common in Pakistan), metal/tin roofs, and tiled roofs. The mounting system varies by roof type. Your installer will assess structural suitability during the site visit.
Fronus has 17 service centers across Pakistan including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and more. Visit our Service Centers page for the full list and directions.
Most warranty claims are resolved within 3–7 business days at your nearest service center. Fronus handles all warranty claims directly, with no middlemen and no finger-pointing between brands and distributors.
What to measure, and what Fronus publishes for each
What to check on any inverter, next to what Fronus publishes for it and where to verify it. A point is listed only while its proof is approved.
Ingress protection (IP rating)
What to check on any inverter
An inverter's IP rating states how much dust and water its enclosure keeps out, which decides whether it can be mounted outdoors or needs a protected indoor space. Ask for the rating of the exact model, not the range.
What Fronus publishes
IP65 on the X1 Genki and X3 Genki series; IP21 on Infineon Reborn and Platinum.
Applies to
Four published inverter series. Ratings are listed per series and per model.
Rated output decides what loads an inverter can run; maximum PV input power and voltage decide how many panels can be wired to it, and how. A model that publishes all three can be sized honestly before purchase.
What Fronus publishes
Each model page lists rated power, maximum PV input, maximum PV voltage and MPPT channels. The X1 Genki 6 kW, for example, publishes 6 kW rated, 7.5 kW maximum PV input, 500 V maximum PV voltage and 2 MPPT channels.
A hybrid inverter only works with batteries that match its battery-voltage window and speak a protocol it supports. Confirm the pairing for your exact inverter and battery models before buying either.
What Fronus publishes
Inverter model pages publish the battery voltage they are built for, and the lithium battery series are listed with their own model pages to check against.
Applies to
Listed hybrid inverter models and the listed battery series. A VRLA/tubular series is listed as of 2026-09-16; the lithium claim below does not extend to it.
A warranty is only as useful as its written terms: how long it runs, what it covers, who honours it and what voids it. Ask for the term in writing against the model you are buying.
What Fronus publishes
Where a model's record carries a warranty term, it is printed on that model's page: the X1 Genki 6 kW shows a five-year term.
Applies to
Individual models whose published record carries a warranty value.
A certification mark means little without the certificate behind it. Ask for the standard, the issuing body, the certificate number and the exact products covered, then check that number against the issuer's own register.
What Fronus publishes
Fronus publishes a certificate register with those fields. No certificate currently carries the complete set, so no certification mark is displayed anywhere on this site.
Applies to
All products. The register states its own current contents.
After-sales support is a location question. Ask for the actual addresses of the service points that will handle your unit, and check one is reachable from the installation site.
What Fronus publishes
A service-center directory with names, addresses, phone numbers and map locations, published from the same dataset the counts on this site are derived from.
Applies to
The published directory as it stands; it is not a claim of nationwide coverage.
These are Fronus's own published answers. For what the terms mean and what to ask any seller, including this one, the brand-neutral buying guide covers the category without reference to any manufacturer.
